Separate the clothing into smaller loads. Packing the washing machine too tightly may not allow the water and detergent to penetrate all of the items.
Change the water setting on the washing machine to the next highest load level. The load settings determine how much water the washing machine uses to launder the clothes. If you do not use enough water, the clothes will not become clean.
Place a cup of chlorine bleach into the washing machine without any clothes. The bleach will kill any trapped odors and mildew from the front-loading washing machine.
Set the water temperature to the hottest water setting that the clothes can withstand. Always read the care label to ensure that you do not damage the fabric. Hot water removes more dirt and germs than cold water.
Pour 1 cup of white vinegar into the front loader during the rinse cycle. Vinegar removes odors from clothes.
Pour 1/4 cup of baking soda into the washing machine before you launder the clothes. Baking soda naturally deodorizes clothes and softens them.
Place the laundered clothes in the dryer immediately. Leaving the wet clothes in the front loader can encourage mold and mildew to grow.
