How to Keep the Clothes in the Dryer From Wrinkling

Clothes that come out of the dryer wrinkled and requiring ironing represent a larger time investment in your laundry when compared to clothes that can go right on the hanger or into the drawer. Some preparation, knowledge of how your dryer works and attention to the laundry process helps reduce the number of wrinkled items with which you end up. Forget too many of the steps though, and you stand a good chance of ending up with a wrinkled mess at the end of every load.

Instructions

    • 1

Buy as many wrinkle-free clothes as possible. Fabrics made to not wrinkle still may wrinkle somewhat if not properly looked after, but they go a long way toward taking clothes wrinkle-free out of the dryer.

    • 2

Shake out all pieces of clothing before you put them in the dryer so they aren't tangled up or folded in on themselves.

    • 3

Run the dryer on permanent press for any clothing that is labeled as such.

    • 4

Take the clothes out of the dryer as soon as the cycle is finished.

    • 5

Use a wrinkle-aid product if stubborn wrinkles persist in clothing.
