How to Make Cotton Bamboo Towels Soft

Bamboo towels are made of bamboo fiber, usually blended with cotton, and they are naturally anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and mildew-resistant. This means they won’t smell musty after you leave them on the floor in a wet heap. Over time, bamboo towels become softer and more absorbent when they are properly cared for, while cotton towels can become stiffer and threadbare. Gentle washing will keep your bamboo towels soft for years to come.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the bamboo and cotton-blend towels in a washing machine. Use a half cup of gentle detergent and warm water. Add 1 cup of vinegar to the wash to rinse any built-up residue from the towels that could be making them stiffer than they should be.

    • 2

Set the washer on a gentle cycle.

    • 3

Remove the towels from the washing machine, and place them in the dryer. Dry the towels on the low cycle.
