How to Dry My Polyester Comforter

Some comforters are stuffed with polyester filling, which makes them less expensive than those filled with down. Some comforters even have a polyester cover. Fortunately, it's not difficult to dry a polyester comforter, but it requires some time, often one to two days if you don't use a dryer. Always read the care label found right on your comforter to verify how to wash and dry your particular comforter without compromising its quality.

Instructions

Place the comforter in your dryer. If your dryer is not large enough to comfortably fit the comforter, take it to a Laundromat and use one of the large capacity dryers, or proceed to Step 3 to air dry it.

    • 2

Dry the comforter on the lowest heat setting. It may take several cycles to completely dry a polyester-filled comforter, especially one that is a queen or king size. You can take the comforter out early, though, to finish by air drying it.

Hang the comforter over a clothes line, or strategically place a couple chairs so you can drape the comforter over the top of them. Indoors, set up a fan to speed up the drying process. You can air dry a polyester comforter right from the washer, or after partially drying from a dryer.
