Scrape the bulk of the wet paint off of the stain on the coat using a flat, thin implement such as a butter knife, playing card or credit card.
Daub the stain with a spot stain remover or stain stick. Rub the stain with your fingers or the applicator to loosen and lift the stain. Apply more spot remover as necessary. Follow the product's instructions for application and rubbing methods. Allow the spot remover to sit on the spot for the label-recommended amount of time. Most commercial spot removers suggest immediate laundering.
Hand wash the stain away. Fill a tub or sink with warm water. Coat the paint stain with heavy-duty liquid stain-fighting laundry detergent. Hand wash the stain over the tub of water. There is no need to submerge the entire coat. Just concentrate on rinsing and washing the stained area. Massage the paint away with your fingers. Rinse frequently and re-apply the detergent as necessary. Keep washing until the stain is gone or you make no more progress in removing it.
Rinse the coat with clean running water to remove all of the soap residue.
Hang the coat to dry.
Read the paint container's label. Look for the solvent the manufacturer recommends for removing painting accidents or cleaning paint brushes. It is often mineral spirits, alcohol or a commercial paint thinner.

Wet the stained area with cold water.
Lay the coat flat. Apply the solvent recommended by the paint label to the paint stain with a cotton swab. Cover the paint completely, but try not to get any solvent on the coat's fabric. Leave the solvent to sit until the paint softens.
