FAQ on the Philips Azur Precise 4310 Steam Iron

The Philips Azur Precise 4310 is a typical steam iron with a few features that make its steaming capabilities unique. Because it's a steaming iron, it may have problems related to its soleplate and the water that it releases. Understanding how to decalcify this particular iron should combat many of the issues.
  1. Steam Features

    • The Philips Azur Precise 4310 has a 350-milliliter water tank to facilitate all of the iron's steam functions. It offers continuous steam output with a spray function to moisten clothing and make removing wrinkles easier. The iron has a shot of steam function incorporated into its steam tip.

    Steam Tip

    • The iron's steam tip releases a burst of concentrated steam to remove stubborn wrinkles. Keep the water tank full when using the steam tip. Set the iron's temperature between the second setting and the maximum setting when using the steam tip. To release the shot of steam, press and release the steam tip button. The steam tip function works in the vertical position as well and is helpful when removing wrinkles from hanging clothing.

    Azur Soleplate Problems

    • Brown water may come out of the soleplate due to mineral deposit buildup. The best way to prevent the brown water and extend the life of the iron is to decalcify it. Demineralised water, or soft water, is not necessarily the solution to preventing the mineral deposits. This water may contain a chemical treatment that can damage the iron.

If water drips out of the soleplate, turn up the heat setting. This typically happens because the water is not converting into steam. A higher heat allows the steam to develop. Settings one through three are for moderate steam, while settings four through six are for strong steam.

Keep the soleplate clean to avoid transferring residue onto your clothing. Use only a moist cloth; chemicals can damage the soleplate's coating.

    Decalcifying Azur Iron

    • The Philips Azur Precise has a "Calc-clean" function to remove mineral deposits and other impurities. Use this function at least every two weeks or more often if flakes or brown water comes out of the iron. To use the function, unplug the iron, set the steam control to zero and fill the water tank. Turn the temperature setting to the highest setting and plug in the iron's power cord. Unplug the cord when the temperature light goes off. Position the iron over a sink and press the "calc-clean" button while shaking the iron to flush out the water and the impurities.
