Color in the bleach spot with permanent marker or fabric marker. This step should only be attempted if the bleach spot is small and you can find a marker shade that matches the clothing, but it is often successful, especially with black garments.
Soak the entire garment in bleach to remove all the color from the fabric.
Rinse the garment and soak it in a bowl of water with a half bottle of hydrogen peroxide to neutralize the bleach and prevent fiber damage. Rinse the garment again.
Dye the garment using a fabric dye. The clothing should take on the new color evenly.
Cover large bleach splashes by using more bleach to give the garment a tie-dye pattern. Pour bleach into a spray bottle.
Lay the garment flat. Cut out small shapes from pieces of scrap cardboard. Arrange the cardboard over the garment.
Spray the bleach solution over the garment. Soak the garment thoroughly and then remove the cardboard pieces. The garment will have contrasting spots of white and color.
Soak the garment in a bucket or sink containing water and a half bottle of hydrogen peroxide to keep the bleach from damaging the fabric. Rinse thoroughly.
