How to Cut Dryer Static Without Fabric Softener

Static electricity in your clothing is more than just embarrassing, it can be a bit painful, too. Although fabric softener dryer sheets are typically used to reduce static electricity in fabrics, the chemicals in the sheets can irritate skin. Making the choice to refrain from using dryer sheets doesn't mean you have to deal with static electricity, however. You can use natural solutions to eliminate static from your laundry.

Hang as much of your laundry as possible on a dryer rack to air dry. Place the drying rack outdoors or near a sunny window.

Place the remainder of your laundry in the dryer with a wool dryer ball. The dryer ball removes static electricity from the fabric during the drying cycle.

Remove your laundry from the dryer before it's fully dry to prevent static electricity caused by overdrying.
