Dry the satin sheets in the dryer with a fabric or dryer sheet. You can also add a liquid fabric softener to the washer using the appropriate dispenser and amount based on the brand and load size. If you don't use a fabric sheet or softener, remove the sheets from the dryer while they are slightly damp. Hang the sheets up to dry them. This also helps prevent the satin sheets from creating a static charge in the dryer.
Use a humidifier in the bedroom, especially during cold weather when the heat is on and humidity levels are lower. Adding moisture to the air helps eliminate static in the room, including in the bed. It also helps keep your skin from drying out. Dry skin and dry air increase the likelihood of static.
Apply lotion to your body about 10 to 15 minutes before getting into bed. Like a humidifier, keeping your skin well-hydrated reduces the chance of static cling as your toss and turn in bed. If your skin is extremely dry, apply lotion several times a day to rehydrate it.
Spray the sheets lightly with a product that reduces static cling, about five minutes before you get into bed. You can also make your own static-removing spray using 30 parts water and one part fabric conditioner.
Rub your sheets lightly with a metal hanger from your closet or another metal object. Metal can eliminate the static charge that is already present in the sheets before you even get into bed.
