# How to Clean Windows With Palmolive Dish Soap
Windows that have not been cleaned in a while might require a professional-style cleaning. Professional window washers know that the strength of the soap can cut through heavily caked dust, cooking grease and dirt on window panes. Washing your windows requires a different technique than washing dishes, as using too much soap could mean you will need to take several hours removing it completely from your windows.
Things You'll Need
- 5-gallon bucket
- 1 cup ammonia
- Sponge or window scrubber
- Squeegee

Fill a 5-gallon bucket with 3 gallons of water. Add 1 cup of ammonia and 2 tablespoons of Palmolive dish soap.

Swish the mixture around with your hand to mix it.

Scrub the window with the mixture in a circular motion with the window scrubber or sponge. Avoid scrubbing too closely to the window seals, as they can trap water, leaving it to drip after you have already finished.

Hold the squeege at a 45-degree angle and make overlapping horizontal strokes across the window, starting at the top and working toward the bottom. The edges may still have soapy mixture on them.

Swipe the squeegee downward from the top of the window to remove any leftover soapy mixture and leave a clean, streak-free finish.
