Hold each end of a foot long piece of fishing line with each hand as tight as possible and slide the line carefully between the tape and the surface.
Keep the taut fishing line as close to the surface as possible. Keep cutting the tape off the surface with the fishing line until you cannot remove any more tape. Continue if any foam tape or residue remains.
Plug a hairdryer in the nearest electrical outlet and set on a medium heat setting. Hold the hairdryer above the tape and move back-and-forth for several seconds to soften the adhesive. Scrape the softened adhesive with the blunt edge of a butter knife.
Saturate a lint-free cloth with water-displacing spray or rubbing alcohol. Scrub the adhesive residue left begin from the double-sided tape gently with the saturated cloth until no more sticky goo remains.
