How to Get Soot Off of Cabinets

If you’ve had a kitchen fire or a fireplace malfunction, the smoke might have deposited soot on your cabinets. While soot looks something like heavy dust, it isn’t as easy to remove. You can’t just brush the grime away using a feather duster or a rag. Before you tackle the cabinets, wash other items in the area that also were exposed to the sticky soot.
