How to Keep a Shower Door From Streaking

Streaks and cloudiness on a shower door are caused by hard water deposits and soap scum. Over time, these streaks can become more noticeable. Some commercial bathroom cleaners can cause tiny scratches on the glass. However, there are safe ways to remove streaks and minimize the reoccurrence of streaks on shower door surfaces.

Instructions

    • 1

Mix equal parts water and vinegar in a bucket. If streaking is heavy, add more vinegar.

    • 2

Wet a sponge or cloth in the solution, and scrub the shower door.

    • 3

If streaks remain, pour a small amount of undiluted white vinegar on a cloth or sponge, and scrub the areas that have streaks.

    • 4

Rinse and dry the shower door. Pour a small amount of lemon oil on a cloth, and rub it on the shower door to prevent streaks.

    • 5

Wet a dryer sheet, and use it to rub off streaks and spots that appear on the shower door between bathroom cleanings.

    • 6

Dry the shower door with a towel after each shower to reduce streaking.
