How to Remove a Scuff From a Countertop

When a hard metal, plastic or rubber surface grinds against a hard, flat surface, it can create a scuff mark. Scuff marks are unsightly and especially noticeable if they are marking up your countertop. Even though a damp paper towel isn't going to do the trick to remove a scuff mark from your countertop, it's not necessary to invest in any special cleaning formulas or chemicals. Instead, you can use a simple method that harnesses the abrasive cleaning power of non-gel toothpaste.

Things You'll Need

  • Non-gel toothpaste
  • Scrub brush
  • Soft cloth

Instructions

      Cover the scuff mark completely with non-gel toothpaste.

      Allow the toothpaste to dry for 30 minutes.

      Scrub the toothpaste with a scrub brush in small circular motions to break apart and lift away the paste and remnants of the scuff mark.

      Wipe the area clean using a dampened soft cloth.
