Cleaning an LG Condenser Dryer

An LG condenser dryer, unlike a traditional vent-style dryer, uses a condenser-based system to gather moisture from drying clothes. The system then moves the moisture to a container for disposal after the drying cycle ends. Although a ventless system, you will still need to remove debris and lint from the dryer. Besides the dryer housing and lint filter, you will also need to clean the condenser water container, condenser and dryer moisture sensors.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug your LG condenser dryer. If you just turned it off, wait for it to cool and then unplug it.

    • 2

Pull the condenser water container from the dryer. If you just used the dryer and haven’t emptied the container yet, dump the water. Wipe the container with a damp, lint-free microfiber cloth and then return it to the dryer.

    • 3

Open the dryer and remove the lint filter after every drying cycle by pulling the filter straight up out of its compartment. Attach a brush tool to your vacuum hose and then vacuum the lint from the filter. Rinse the filter under hot water and set it aside to air dry.

    • 4

Flip down the condenser cover to open it and then open the sealing cover. Pull the condenser from your dryer using the loop at the front of the condenser. Insert your finger in the loop and pull.

    • 5

Carry the condenser to a sink and run hot tap water over it to remove lint. When you're finished, shake the condenser and set it aside.

    • 6

Wipe the exterior of your LG dryer and the power cord and plug with a damp cloth to remove dust, lint or spilled materials. Wipe the moisture sensor. When you're done, dry all surfaces with another cloth.

    • 7

Return the condenser and lint filter to your dryer. Plug the dryer back in and use as needed.

    • 8

Use your vacuum to remove debris from the front grill once every three months.
