How to Clean Bathtubs With Non-Slip Coatings

Non-slip coatings on a bathtub attract a ton of dirt and grime. They're also difficult to clean, since the non-slip coating isn't smooth to wipe down. Since you don't want to step on a gray mess each time you shower, plan to attack the dirt on the coating. With the right products and some serious scrubbing, you'll have a bathtub that looks as good as new. Your bath time will be much more appealing with a sparkling white tub.

Instructions

    • 1

Spray a basic bathroom cleaner all over the interior of the tub. Let it sit for five minutes, but don't allow it to dry.

    • 2

Scrub the walls of your tub with your brush, starting at the top and working your way to the bottom. Rinse the brush in the sink every few minutes.

    • 3

Scrub the base of the tub interior with the brush. Turn on the shower to rinse all the loosened dirt down the drain.

    • 4

Spray the non-slip coating with the cleaner again. Let it sit for another five minutes.

    • 5

Scour the non-slip coating with your brush. Move it in small circles to break up the grime. Rinse it away with the shower.

    • 6

Pour a small amount of acidic surface cleaner on your sponge or directly on the non-slip coating. Look for one especially made for bathtubs or bathroom cleaning.

    • 7

Wipe the acidic cleaner into the non-slip coating until all the remaining dirt is gone.

    • 8

      Rinse the tub.
