Removing Scuffs from Vinyl Dashboards

Scuff marks accumulate at times on vinyl dashboards, often caused by shoes placed on the dash or similar items that leave behind a dark, rubbery scuff. To keep your dash looking its best, use cleaning tools that safely remove the scuff marks without damaging the underlying vinyl. There are several elements that will work well, many of which you most likely already have on hand.

Instructions

    • 1

Scrub gently over the scuffs with a pencil eraser. For smaller scuff marks, this type of eraser easily pulls off the residue without altering the vinyl surface.

    • 2

Rinse a cleaning eraser under water to moisten it and scrub gently over the vinyl dashboard to remove scuff marks. This type of eraser is mild enough for use on any dashboard surface while strong enough to remove scuff marks.

    • 3

Dip the edge of a cleaning rag in rubbing alcohol and scrub the moist edge of the rag over any remaining scuff mark residue. Continue until all scuffs are removed.

    • 4

Rinse the cleaning rag under clean water, wring out and wipe over the dashboard. Let the surface air dry.
