Wipe loose debris off the refrigerator shelves and into a dustpan with a dry sponge. Discard the debris in the trash.
Spray hard, stuck-on food stains with all-purpose lubricant spray. Allow the spray to sit on the hard stains for five minutes to soften them. Scrape the softened food stains off the refrigerator surfaces with a plastic scraper.
Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of white vinegar. Dampen a clean cloth with the vinegar and wring out the cloth.
Wipe out the inside of the refrigerator with the full-strength vinegar to remove stains and deodorize the interior. Rinse the cloth as needed. Add more vinegar and continue to clean the interior of the refrigerator.
Leave the refrigerator door open to allow the inside to air dry.
Place 1 cup of baking soda and 3 drops of vanilla extract into a bowl. Stir the two ingredients together to mix well.
Set the bowl of scented baking soda inside the refrigerator. Close the door and allow the vanilla-scented baking soda to further deodorize the refrigerator overnight.
