How to Degrease Dishes

For cooked-on grease, or even a mild greasy residue, standard dish soap may not have the power to cut through the grime. In such cases, it's important to use a product that effectively removes the grease without damaging your dishes or skin. A safe, powerful and chemical-free method of ridding plates, bowls, drinking glasses and cookware of grease is essential orange oil. It's extracted from orange rinds and mostly consists of D-limonene -- a natural solvent.

Dampen the sponge, then rub the orange oil into the grease, just as if you were hand washing it with regular soap.

    • 3

Dampen the soft cloth with warm water, and wipe the orange oil and grease off the dish.

Rinse the dish with warm running water, then allow it to dry.

    Hard Grease Stains
