How to Get Rid of Smoke Odors in a Bathroom

Eliminating smoke odors in the bathroom is often easier than deodorizing other rooms since there are typically fewer porous materials in a bathroom to soak up the smell. Using inexpensive household products, you can remove smoke odors from your bathroom safely and quickly.

Place a small bowl of approximately 1 cup of white or apple cider vinegar in the bathroom. Use several bowls if the bathroom is large or the smell is very strong.

Soak a rag with vinegar, and use it to wipe down all the fixtures, walls and floor of the bathroom.

    • 3

Fill a fine-mist spray bottle with 1 part vinegar to 1 part water. Spray into the air in the bathroom to deodorize the room.

    • 4

Remove curtains and bath rugs if the odor lingers after using cleaning products. Wash them in the hottest water indicated by the fabric care instructions.
