The Best Ways to Use a Bissel Steamer

The Bissell steamer, also referred to as the Steam Shot, is a steaming tool that produces high-pressured hot steam to remove dirt. Along with cleaning and sanitizing, the steamer can be used for a variety of other purposes. The best way to use the steamer is to take advantage of its attachments.
  1. Cleaning

    • The steam from the Steam Shot cleans and kills bacteria without using harsh cleaning chemicals. Along with a pointed nozzle to clean in small areas such as around faucets and corners, the steamer has an extension hose to reach higher places such as shower walls. The steamer can also be used to clean a grill and other surfaces with stubborn stains.

    Detailing

    • The brush attachment is designed to clear stubborn stains and soil. Cleaning and disaffecting tile grout is done with the grout brush tool. The detail brush tool scrubs stained and soil areas. Both attachments allow the steam to penetrate and remove stains.

    Wallpaper Removal

    • The steamer's flat scraping attachment needs to be attached to the extension hose if you want to remove wallpaper. The plastic scraping tool on the Bissell steamer can remove other messes left by grease, jelly, syrup, tar and gum.

    Fabric Wrinkles

    • The fabric steaming accessory and cloth attachment is used to remove wrinkles from clothes, curtains and other fabrics. The cloth accessory is machine washable and can be cleaned after each use.

    Window Washing

    • Because steam evaporates quickly, the steamer can clean windows without streaks. The fabric steaming accessory without the cloth attachment works like a window squeegee. The machine cleans windows without the need of paper towels or rags to remove streaks.

    Maintenance

    • The steamer and its attachments require routine maintenance to work properly. Always empty and dry the machine after each use. Allowing water to sit in the machine between uses can cause mold in the steamer container. Washing the attachments in warm, soapy water and allowing them to dry will lengthen the life of the accessories.
