Mix 1/4 cup of household-grade ammonia to 1 cup of warm water.

Soak the wedding rings in the liquid mixture for 20 to 30 minutes.

Mix two or three drops of regular dish-washing soap in a cup of warm water and stir well. Allow the suds to die down.

Transfer the rings from the ammonia solution into the dish soap solution. Allow to sit for several minutes.
