Instructions

    • 1

Open the windows in the room if any exists. This will allow toxic fumes and glue-scented air to leave the room more easily. Leave the windows open as you clean.

    • 2

Shampoo the carpeting using a professional-grade carpet cleaner and carpet cleaning solution. Allow the carpet to dry for 4 hours.

    • 3

Fill a bowl with hot water, and add in 1 cup of all-purpose cleaner.

    • 4

Soak a washcloth in the all-purpose cleaner, and wipe down the molding, walls and open surfaces in the room, including desks and dressers. Allow the wiped-down areas to dry for 1 hour.

    • 5

Light a few scented candles using a lighter, then place the candles in a safe location in the room away from drapery or paper.

    • 6

Set out a scented cone air freshener, and allow it to remain in the room for at least 4 hours.
