The Best Way to Clean a Blackboard

Properly cleaning a blackboard may sound simple, but it can be a somewhat difficult task. Removing all of the chalk residue is hard to accomplish if you do not use a good cleaner. Instead of using standard water to clean the board, use a homemade cleaning solution. An all-natural homemade blackboard cleaning solution will remove all unwanted chalk stains without the use of chemicals. This cleaning solution can be made using items commonly found around the house.

Things You'll Need

  • 2 quarts warm water
  • Large bucket
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons liquid dish detergent
  • Clean sponge
  • Damp rag
  • Lint-free towel

Instructions

      Pour 2 quarts of warm water into a large bucket.

      Add 1 cup of white vinegar to the water.

      Add 2 teaspoons of liquid dish detergent to the water.

      Dip a clean sponge into the water and vinegar mixture. Allow the sponge to absorb a generous amount of water.

      Squeeze the sponge to remove excess moisture.

      Clean the blackboard with the wet sponge. Start at the bottom of the board and work your way to the top of the board.

      Remove any leftover cleaner residue with a damp rag.

      Wipe the blackboard dry with a lint-free towel.
