How to Clean Hairspray From Grout

If you use hairspray and those little lines between your tile floor or counter top are sticky, even after you've cleaned, apply some extra attention to your grout. Grout lines are often set lower than tile, and the material is porous, so simply cleaning the surface of your tiles may not do the trick to remove hairspray buildup.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 solution of bleach and water. Shake the bottle to mix the solution.

    • 2

Spray the solution over the tile grout. Allow the solution to sit for a few minutes so that the bleach can absorb into the grout.

    • 3

Rub a hard-bristled toothbrush over the grout lines to remove the hairspray from the surface of the grout.

    • 4

Wipe down the grout lines with a clean sponge and warm, soapy water. Apply some elbow grease, while wiping down the grout, to completely remove the hairspray and bleach solution residue.
