Piezo Cleaner Instructions

The piezoelectric is a tool used by doctors, surgeons and veterinarians. It is designed to cut through bone and has many tool heads for specific purposes. Keeping the piezoelectric clean is a critical part of safety and hygiene when working in this field. Use the proper cleaners and work in a sanitary environment when cleaning the equipment. Clean up as soon as possible after using the machine to make the job easier.

  • Cotton ball or cloth
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Lint-free cloths
  • Syringe
  • Neutral enzymatic cleaner
  • Purified water
  • Neutral detergent

Instructions

  1. Console and Foot Pedal

    • 1

      Unplug the machine and remove all the cables to prevent electric shock.

      Moisten a cotton ball or clean rag with rubbing alcohol or another disinfectant.

      Wipe all the parts on the top of the machine with the disinfectant.

      Turn the machine over and wipe around the footrests and the bottom of the machine with the rubbing alcohol.

    Handpiece

    • 5

      Disassemble the handpiece by unscrewing the nose cone, light diffuser and LED ring.

      Rinse the pieces with cold, running water for at least two minutes. This removes large particles. Wipe with a soft cloth as you rinse to help remove large pieces.

      Fill a clean syringe with water and flush out inside the hand piece.

      Mix a neutral pH enzymatic cleaner and set all the pieces in the cleaner to soak for 10 minutes. Follow the cleaner's instructions for how to mix.

      Rinse the pieces in cold running water.

      Mix fresh enzymatic cleaner and brush the pieces in the solution for five minutes.

      Rinse all the pieces with purified water.

      Wash the pieces again with a detergent that has a neutral pH. Scrub with a soft brush and lint-free cloth for two minutes.

      Rinse the pieces with purified water. Use a syringe to flush the inside of the hand piece. Rinse for at least two minutes.

      Inspect the hand piece to ensure it is clean. Dry with a lint-free cloth.
