How to Get Sticker Residue Off a Non-Stick Pan

Non-stick pans, a favorite of many cooks, are less likely than other pans to have food stick to them. They are also easier to clean. A precaution you must take when using and cleaning non-stick pans is not to use any tools or cleaners that can cause scratching. If your non-stick pan has sticker residue on it -- perhaps from the label -- then remove it in a manner that doesn't scrape or damage the surface.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Pour vinegar into the pan to submerge the sticker residue. Wait at least 15 minutes and scrub the non-stick pan clean with a rag, sponge or non-abrasive cleaning pad. Rinse the pan well under warm running water after removing the sticker residue.

    • 2

Moisten the sticky residue with olive oil. Wait a minimum of 15 minutes before scrubbing it off. Rub the area vigorously with a rag, sponge or non-abrasive cleaning pad. Reapply the olive oil if some of the residue remains and, after waiting another 15 minutes, scrub the remaining residue off. After the sticker residue is removed, wash and rinse your pan thoroughly to remove the olive oil.

Spray the sticker residue with a spray lubricant. Wait 15 minutes and scrub the residue off with a rag, sponge or non-abrasive pad. Repeat, if necessary. Wash and rinse your non-stick pan thoroughly with hot, soapy water to remove all the spray lubricant from the pan before using it again.
