Natural Cleaner Recipe for Inside Cabinets

Eliminate the cost and chemicals of commercial cleaners in your kitchen by making your own natural cabinet cleaner. Grease and food residue is the basis of much of the soil in your kitchen cabinets. A good cleaner must cut through the grease and remove food particles without damaging the wood or laminate surface of your cabinets. The best cabinet cleaner can also be used on other surfaces, including counters and appliances, so you can use one bottle to clean the entire kitchen.

Instructions

    • 1

Place 2 cups hot water in a spray bottle. Dissolve 1 teaspoon borax in the hot water.

    • 2

Add 2 tablespoons vinegar to the solution in the spray bottle. Pour 1/4 cup mild liquid dish soap into the bottle. Stir with a long wooden skewer or chopstick to combine. Stir slowly to prevent the mixture from foaming.

    • 3

Spray a thin coat of the cleaner onto exterior cabinet doors one weekly or as needed. Wipe off immediately with a cleaning rag.

    • 4

Empty out the interior of the cabinets prior to cleaning. Spray down all interior surfaces and wipe clean.

    • 5

Let the spray mixture soak onto heavy grime for five minutes, and then wipe clean. For grease stains, wipe the grease from the cabinet first with pure vinegar, and then clean with the cabinet cleaning solution.
