# The Front of the Door Is Sticky After Cleaning
Since cleaning is intended to remove stains and stickiness, it can be bothersome when it causes it instead. While most cleaning solutions clean a door surface without any problems, the wrong type of solution, such as an oil-based soap, can leave the door with a tacky-feeling residue. Left unattended, the stickiness attracts other dirt and debris. You can clean stickiness off the door and keep the surface clean using basic supplies from your kitchen.
Things You'll Need
- 2 buckets
- Hot water
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 2 cups white vinegar
- Wooden spoon
- Sponge
- Clean cloths

Cleansing solution in a bucket makes it easier to move around. Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of hot water.

Add 1/2 cup of baking soda and 2 cups of white vinegar to the water. Stir the three ingredients together with a wooden spoon.

Dip a sponge in the baking soda and vinegar solution. Wring out excess moisture.

Scrub the surface of the door, starting at the top, to remove sticky residue along with dirt and dust. Rinse the sponge frequently in the second bucket, filled with warm water only. Continue to scrub the entire door surface.

Wet a clean cloth with water. Squeeze the cloth to remove excess moisture.

Wipe off the door surface to remove the baking soda solution and prevent a powdery residue. Dry the door with another cloth.
