Scrape away as much of the tape as will come up with a plastic credit card or a plastic utensil.
Mix 1 tbsp. of mild liquid dish soap in 1 cup of hot water.
Sponge the soapy water onto the tape. Work on only one or two steps at a time.
Allow the soapy water to sit on the tape for five to 10 minutes to give it time to soften it up.
Scrape at the tape again gently with the credit card or utensil.
Wipe the area dry with a soft towel and inspect it for traces of the adhesive.
Dampen a clean cloth with mineral oil and sponge it onto the remaining adhesive.
Scrub the area gently with the cloth until all of the adhesive is gone.
Wipe the area dry with a soft towel.
