How to Care for Brass Aquasource Faucets

For the most part, brass Aquasource faucets need very little maintenance. The finish won't rust and it's resistant to tarnish. All you need to do is some routine cleaning on a regular basis. Although brass faucets are easy to clean, using the wrong cleaning products may cause damage, leaving you with a dull or even unprotected finish.

Instructions

    • 1

Wipe your brass faucet with a moist microfiber cloth daily, especially if it comes in contact with soap, toothpaste or other materials. Do not use abrasive cleaners, metal polish or any cleaner containing ammonia or alcohol.

Clean the brass with a mild brass cleaner, not a polish, periodically to remove buildup and restore shine. Apply a small amount of brass cleaner to a soft cloth. Rub the cleaner on the faucet and allow it to dry. When the surface turns hazy, wipe it with a clean soft cloth.

Wax the brass once or twice a year to maintain the finish and add a protective layer. Use only a liquid wax with no abrasives. Apply the wax with a soft cloth, allow it to dry to a haze and buff it to a shine with a dry soft cloth.
