      Hand wash utensils to remove stains. Fill a sink with water and add liquid detergent or scouring powder to the water. Gently scrub utensils with a brush or cloth.

      Apply cooking oil to a dry cloth and wipe your utensils to remove rust stains, or apply unsalted cooking oil directly to the utensils. Place your soaked utensils in the oven for two or three hours. Heat the oven to 250 degrees. The oil penetrates the surface of metal utensils and lifts stains.

      Wet a steel wool cleaning pad with water. Scrub the utensils with this pad to remove stubborn stains.

      Apply commercial rust remover to the utensils. Wipe or scrub the utensils with a cloth to remove stains. Rinse the utensils with water by dipping them in a bucket of water or place the utensils under the water faucet. Rinsing removes any traces of the rust remover.
