Sweep the floor to remove all dust and debris from the VCT tile installation.
Mix neutral floor cleaner with water in a bucket as directed by the packaging instructions. Neutral floor cleaner has a neutral pH as opposed to an acidic cleaner, such as citric acid, or a base cleaner, like ammonia. Neutral cleaners are available at hardware stores and home and garden centers.
Apply the floor cleaner solution to the VCT tile with a wet mop.
Rinse the mop in warm water and wring it out until it's as dry as possible. Mop the floor again to remove the cleaning solution residue and wring it out as necessary. Alternatively, you can remove the solution with a wet vac.
Wait for the floor to air-dry completely. Clean and wring out the wet mop.
Check the floor sealer solution's instructions to confirm whether it's ready to use or needs to be mixed with water. Pour the floor sealer into a clean bucket and mix, as directed, if necessary. Apply the sealer to the floor with the clean wet mop. Allow the floor to air-dry completely before continuing.
Apply floor wax to the VCT tiles with a clean, dry flat mop in a thin, even coat. Allow the wax to dry for 45 minutes.
Add a second coat of wax. Wait another 45 minutes for the floor to dry then follow up with a third coat of wax if necessary.
Allow the wax to dry overnight before moving furniture into the room.
