How to Install an Octo Inflator

An octo inflator is the inhaler mouthpiece for your scuba equipment. This is the piece that you put in your mount, and it installs onto the inhaler hose via a simple quick-disconnect coupler. If you live around water or take family trips to areas where you can scuba dive, it is important to ensure all of your equipment is installed properly to ensure a safe dive.

Instructions

    • 1

Wrap Teflon tape around the threads on the quick-connect male coupler. This will help to seal the threads between the connector and the inhaler.

    • 2

Thread the male connector into the threaded port on the side of the inflator as far as you can with your fingers. Snug the coupler with a wrench but do not over-tighten. The inflator is plastic, and you can crack the housing.

Locate the female connector on the inflator hose and pull back on the outer coupling sleeve. Place the female connector over the male connector on the inhaler then release the outer sleeve on the female connector to lock the two connectors together.
