      Measure the table you want to cover. Add 10 to 15 inches to both dimensions. Using heavy-duty scissors, cut a piece of oilskin to fit the dimensions.

      Wrap the edges of the oilskin with strips of color-coordinating double fold bias tape. Some sewing machines can't sew directly on oilskin, and hemming with bias tape makes it easier. Pin the bias tape in place all the way around the edges of the oilskin.
