How to Remove Cooking Smells From My Home

Cooking a tasty meal is a great way to bring the family together, but it can also leave behind unpleasant smells that spread throughout your home. Certain food odors, such as onions, garlic and fish, are especially difficult to remove. There are ways to minimize the odors while preparing meals and to remove cooking smells that remain after the food has been served and cleaned away. No heavily scented sprays are necessary, and many of needed items are probably already in your kitchen.

    • 1

Fill a small container with white vinegar and place it on the stove while preparing foods with strong odors.

    • 4

Bring the mixture to a boil and remove it from the heat. Allow it to sit on the stove uncovered until unpleasant cooking smells are eliminated.

    • 5

Pour 1 cup of water and 3 tbsp. of white vinegar into a pot.

    • 6

Bring the vinegar and water to a boil and allow it to continue for approximately five minutes to eliminate stubborn cooking smells.
