# How to Set a Whirlpool Electric Range Stove Timer
Whirlpool designs and manufactures a series of electric ranges, many of which have a stove timer you can use to time food on your stove or in your oven. All whirlpool electric ovens that have a timer use the same set up process. Stay close to your range while you have food in the oven as the timer only sounds once and you can miss it easily if you are far away from your kitchen.

Press the "Timer" button.

Press the "up" and "down" arrows to set the amount of time. The timer does not go beyond 99 minutes and 59 seconds.

Press the "Timer" button again to lock that number in and begin the timer. If you don't do this, the timer will automatically lock after four seconds. The timer will sound one long beep when the time has run out.

Press the "Cancel" button to display the clock. This will not disengage the timer.

Press and hold the "Timer" button for three seconds to disengage the timer.
