How to Keep My Comforter Fluffy

Comforters can make a bold statement as part of your bedroom decor, but a lumpy or saggy comforter may detract from the overall look. Comforters require daily maintenance to keep them appearing fluffed and pillowy. As air filters from the comforter, the fibers relax and flatten, resulting in a lumpy bed covering. Whip your comforter into shape with fluffing techniques.

Instructions

    • 1

Make your bed each morning by pulling the sheets to the head of bed. Straighten the comforter over the top of the sheets, using your hands to smooth out any wrinkles.

    • 2

Stand at the foot of the bed and grasp the end of the comforter with both hands. Raise the end of the comforter up 2 to 3 feet from the bed sheets.

Jerk the comforter down quickly. The rest of the comforter should float into the air and back down onto the bed. Repeat this process three to four times to fluff the comforter. The action allows air to fill the space around the fibers, producing a fluffier bed cover.

Place your comforter into the dryer and allow it to spin without heat for 20 minutes once a week. The spinning action helps distribute fibers evenly inside the comforter.
