How to Close a Vertical Curtain

Curtains provide privacy, control the amount of light in a room and act as a method of maintaining a desirable temperature. They also provide a decorative element. They are available in a large variety of fabrics, sizes and color. The process of closing vertical curtains is straightforward once you learn how to move the curtain.

Instructions

    • 1

Untie the tieback to release the curtain if there is a tieback holding it to the side.

    • 2

Pull the inner edge of each curtain panel to the center of the window. If the window has one curtain panel, then pull one edge across to the other end of the window. You may pull the curtain with a pull rod, if there is one connected to the curtain.

    • 3

Adjust the curtain to cover the window completely. If there are two curtain panels, ensure that their inner edges meet at the center of the window and their outer edges cover or overlap the outer edges of the window. If the window has a single panel, ensure that the side edges hide the window from view.
