How to Make a Bed Like a Fancy Hotel

The life of luxury has much appeal. People fantasize about chauffeur-driven cars, four-course meals and five-star restaurants. Unfortunately, the good life does not come without a price, and many of those fantasies may not become realities because of cost constraints. Fortunately, you can create a life of luxury for yourself at little or no cost by doing simple things like making your bed.

  Ensure that the size of the sheets and blankets you are using match the size of the bed. Wash the sheets and blankets so that they are clean and smell fresh.

  Attach the fitted sheet to the four corners of the bed. Smooth out all wrinkles with your hands.

  Drape the flat sheet over the fitted sheet. Align the top of the sheet with the headboard and make sure the sheet hangs evenly at the sides and bottom of the mattress.

  Tuck the overhang of the sheet between the mattress and box spring. The sheet should fit snugly.

  Place the blanket over the sheets. Align the top of the blanket with the headboard and fold it back six inches. Tuck the overhang of the blanket into the bed in the same manner as the flat sheet.

  Lay a duvet over the blanket so that it is aligned with the headboard of the bed and the sides of the duvet hang over the bed evenly. Create a six-inch fold similar to the one created for the blanket.

  Put pillow cases on your pillows and place them in the space that was created when the blanket and duvet were pulled back.
