Measure the bottom of your drawer with a measuring tape.
Spread newspapers out on your flat working surface.
Use a pair of sharp scissors to cut a rectangle of fabric that matches the measurements of the bottom of your drawer.
Fill a bowl with an equal mix of liquid fabric stiffener and water. There should be enough of the mixture to cover the fabric when it is placed in the bowl.
Put on a pair of rubber gloves.
Saturate the fabric rectangle in the mix of fabric stiffener and water.
Squeeze out the fabric over the bowl.
Lay the fabric out flat on the newspaper, pattern side up. Smooth out the wet wrinkles. If the fabric dries with wrinkles, it will stay wrinkled.
Allow the fabric to dry thoroughly. At this point, it is fairly stiff.
Lay strips of double-sided tape on the bottom of the drawer. Create a border of tape 1 inch from each side, and create an "X" from corner to corner of the border.
Lay the fabric rectangle down on the double-sided tape, and press it down. This secures the tape to the drawer and the fabric.
