The glaze on stoneware is actually harder than the metals that make up most silverware. As a result, silverware leaves small deposits of metal behind on the stoneware surface that look like dark gray scratches. Although stoneware manufacturers make specialized cleaning products to help remove these marks, you can clean your stoneware just as effectively with ingredients you already have at home.
- Baking soda
- Sponge
- Liquid dish detergent
