DIY Black Napkin Ring

Creating your own wedding decorations and accessories allows you to be in total control of the outcome, and typically saves money that you can put toward your honeymoon. Make your own black napkin rings to complement your wedding colors and the style of your wedding. Black napkin rings can be versatile, which allows you to save them for use in your home if you desire. Making black napkin rings also gives you the freedom to make each one differently, yet they will all still look uniform on your wedding tables.

Instructions

    • 1

Create the base of the napkin ring out of solid material. You can use thick construction paper, heavy card stock, pre-cut plastic rings or a cork with a hole cut out of the center. Toilet paper or paper towel holders can also be cut down to provide the base. If you opt for paper, glue it together to form the ring.

    • 2

Cover the base with black ribbon, lace or fabric. The fabric can have a black-on-black design or pattern, such as stripes, polka dots or waves. Glue the material to the base of the napkin ring. Alternatively, tie ribbon into a decorative bow around the napkins to keep things simple.

    • 3

Decorate the napkin ring with black beads, buttons, sequins or silk flowers. Glue the items onto the ribbon or fabric of the napkin ring.

    • 4

Form black pipe cleaners or thick black wires into a ring shape. Twist the ends into shapes, such as hearts or swirls.
