Getting Dishwasher Residue Off Dishes

While a dishwasher may reduce your overall kitchen workload, at times it makes cleaning more difficult if you're left with residue on dishes after the cycle completes. When it comes to soap, more is not always better in the dishwasher, and using excessive amounts prevents the dishes from getting completely clean. Hard minerals in your water also can contribute to white film and residue being left on your dishes after the machine finishes its cycle.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill your sink with warm soapy water and wash each dish.

    • 2

Rinse the dish in white vinegar.

    • 3

Scrub any difficult or caked-on spots with a scouring pad, or use an old toothbrush to get in the insides of glasses or cracks and crevices.

    • 4

Dry the dishes completely with a dish towel. Air drying increases the chances of spotting.
