How to Make Gelatin Flowers Stick to Fondant

If you're looking to "wow" your guests with your formal cake, delicate-looking gelatin flowers offer an alternative to typical sugar paste flowers. These faux flowers are made by pulling thick gelatin into petal shapes and attaching them together with dabs of dissolved gelatin. Once the flowers dry, they become hard enough to use to decorate a cake. Attaching them to the surface of a fondant-covered cake will require the use of an edible glue.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Use the paintbrush to dab corn syrup on the area of the fondant to which you want to attach the gelatin flower.

    • 2

Press the flower onto the corn syrup gently to avoid breaking the petals.

    • 3

Dry the cake overnight to ensure that the flower is firmly attached to the fondant.
