How to Care for Tramontina Cookware

Even for the nonchef, a good set of cookware can make preparing any meal easier and less stressful, since there is no need for the cook to compensate for a pan that heats too quickly or unevenly. Tramontina is a line of cookware known for its durable, long-lasting pieces. While Tramontina can be quite expensive, many people find it satisfying to purchase one piece at a time. Begin with the pot or pan you will use most often; for example, a sauté pan or stock pot.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean your Tramontina correctly to maintain it. Fill the kitchen sink with 2 inches of warm water. Put on a pair of rubber gloves.

    • 2

Place the first Tramontina piece in the water. Sprinkle the inside surface with nonabrasive, bleach-free cleansing powder.

    • 3

Tip the pot or pan to add a small bit of water from the sink to the inside. Use just enough water to form a paste with the powder. Rub the paste over the inside of the Tramontina piece in a circular motion, using a soft rag.

    • 4

Rinse the piece well with plain water and set it on a towel to air-dry. Wash the rest of your Tramontina pieces in the same fashion.

    • 5

Keep stainless steel pieces clean and dry. If you have cast iron pieces, oil and season them regularly with a food-grade oil just as you would any cast iron.
