How to Keep Strawberries From Drying Out

Fresh vine-ripened strawberries truly give off an instant taste of summer and are suitable snacks chock full of nutritional benefits like Vitamin C. When a strawberry is at its peak of ripeness, the flesh of the fruit will be a deep, bright red color and have a plump round shape. When you bite into it, it will be sweet, not tart or sour, to the taste. In order to keep strawberries tasting fresh for as long as possible after you've brought them home, you need to prevent them from drying out. This all depends on how well you store them.

Place the strawberries in a plastic clam container or a plastic zippered bag.

Open the plastic clam container or plastic zippered bag partially. This is crucial, as it will create an environment of high humidity, which will prevent the strawberries from drying out.
