How to Remove Scratches From Plastic Furniture With Polish

Plastic furniture offers a durable design, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use. However, regular use of the furniture can lead to scratches and other types of damage. Metal polish, which homeowners use to restore a natural shine to metal surfaces, works equally well on plastic surfaces. The metal polish fills in the scratches, making them sit flush with the plastic. When used properly, the metal polish completely hides any signs of scratch marks on plastic.

Instructions

    • 1

Pour a small amount of metal polish into a small bowl.

    • 2

Dip the edge or corner of the microfiber cloth into the metal polish and wipe it across the scratched area.

    • 3

Rub the cloth around the plastic in a circular motion for five minutes, reversing the direction and moving in small circles.

    • 4

Wipe off any excess metal polish with the clean end of the cloth. Examine the surface carefully, looking for any signs of the scratch. Add more metal polish to the cloth and rub again until the scratch disappears.

    • 5

Repeat the polishing method on any additional scratches on the plastic furniture. Once the scratches have disappeared, wipe off any residue with a clean cloth.
