How to Clean Etched Glass Shower Doors

Etched glass shower doors will give your bathroom an elegant look. The glass doors feature carved designs of everything from palm trees to dolphins, depending on the bathroom decor theme. The doors feature either frosted designs etched on clear glass backgrounds, or clear glass designs etched on frosted backgrounds. Over time, soap scum and hard water deposits can build up on an etched glass shower door. You can make the door sparkle again using a few basic cleaning techniques.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a small amount of a gentle cleaner, such as shampoo, onto a soft sponge. Rub the sponge over the glass shower door to remove any fingerprints or soap scum. Gently work the cleaner into the etched designs. Allow the cleaner to sit on the door for five minutes to help dissolve any hard-to-remove film or water spots.

    • 2

Wipe the cleaner off the door with a clean, damp sponge. Rub any stubborn water spots with a fabric softener sheet, which may help soften and break up mineral deposits.

    • 3

Pour white vinegar into a spray bottle. Spray the vinegar over the etched glass door to remove any residue.

    • 4

Wipe the vinegar off with a dry microfiber cloth. Polish the door with the cloth until the glass sparkles.
