Adding a Booster to the Dishwasher

While a dishwasher saves you time by washing your dishes for you, sometimes it needs a little extra help to make those dishes sparkle, especially if you have hard water. A dishwasher detergent booster removes crusted-on food particles and prevents hard water from leaving spots on your otherwise-clean dishes. Detergent boosters are generally sold separately from regular dishwasher soap and need to be added alongside the soap before running the dishwasher.

Instructions

    • 1

Load the dishwasher with dirty dishes, stacking them as normal.

    • 2

Flip open the soap dispenser on the interior of the door on the dishwasher. Following the directions on the back of the package, pour the dishwasher soap into the dispenser.

    • 3

Add the detergent booster on top of the soap in the dispenser. Read the package instructions to ensure you are using the correct amount.

    • 4

Click the dispenser door shut and close the dishwasher door. Run the dishwashing cycle as normal, unless the detergent booster says otherwise. If so, follow those instructions instead.
